Events and fashion shows of the most prestigious designers. According to the SEMrush analysis, Gucci and Versace are the most typed on the web, both in Italy and worldwide. Third place for Max Mara in Italy, abroad they prefer Prada
From 18th to 24th February, the Lombard capital will be transformed into a great haute couture catwalk, to host Milan Fashion Week 2020, one of the most important world events in the sector. The most famous fashion houses will show their new collections, including fashion shows and super glam events. A week that many people have been anxiously waiting for for several months before, looking online for a little preview of the clothes or indiscretions about the designers.
SEMrush has analyzed the key words related to the fashion world and individual designers, typed on online search engines in the last 12 months, making a comparison between those of greatest interest to users in Italy and the rest of the world.
As has been said many times, fashion speaks a universal language, which knows no geographical boundaries. It is not too surprising, therefore, that the first two brands in the respective rankings are the same. First place for Gucci, the historic Italian brand founded by Guccio Gucci, now under the direction of creative director Alessandro Michele. Every month in the last year in the world 7,505,000 searches have been made online, 515,167 in Italy alone. If we compare research volumes to the population, 1,501 searches per million people in the world are made, while in Italy there are even 8,518 searches per million.
Second place for Versace, the fashion house founded by the unforgettable Gianni Versace, undisputed myth. Acquired in 2018 by the American designer and entrepreneur Michael Kors, it continues to maintain an exquisitely Italian charm, thanks to the artistic director Donatella Versace, Gianni’s sister. Every month, the keyword “versace” is typed 2,257,083 times on search engines around the world, 136,521 in Italy. Also in this case, if we compare numbers to population volumes, we notice a greater interest in our country, with a ratio of 2,257 per million users in Italy, compared to 451 per million in the rest of the world.
Worldwide, the third place is occupied by Prada, with an average of 1,239,292 online searches per month (248 per million people), while in Italy it is fourth, with 89,417 online queries per month (1,478 per million). The fashion house led today by Miuccia Prada, grandson of the founder Mario Prada, is part of the Italian holding company Prada S.p.A.
In Italy the third place is occupied by Max Mara, with an average of 94,396 searches every month (1,561 every million people). In the world, on the other hand, the fashion house is only seventh, with 328,208 searches every month, just 66 for every million users, perhaps because it is still little perceived as an ambassador of luxury and fashion made in Italy. On the contrary, Max Mara is still owned today by the family that founded it, the Maramotti family, and over the years it has had among its designers names that have later entered the history of international fashion, such as Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce & Gabbana, Narciso Rodriguez and Luciano Soprani.
